Times are tough, we know. Here's how we can support you during these times and help you to help yourself.

At Good Meals, we want you to understand that we are part of your community. We work closely with nutritionists to be able to make and provide you with healthy meals. Keeping a healthy diet is important to support your immune system and mental health. Although there is no evidence that says diet and nutrition prevent the COVID-19 virus, good nutrition can assist you in reducing the development of other diseases. It is so important that we try to look after ourselves in every way possible during these times. If you need extra assistance from us during these times, do not hesitate to call us. Although we deliver you meals, we are also available for a socially distanced chat, or if you need something picked up from the supermarket we can be of assistance.
Self-care tips
Firstly, we want to quickly cover one of your most frequently asked questions. Q: "I feel unwell but I can't afford to go to a doctor, what should I do?" A: Find a bulk billing doctor who will take a phone call from you at no cost. Explain your symptoms to them and follow their advice. The government will also provide Sick Pay to you if you can't afford to take a day off work to get tested. COVID-19 testing facilities are free for everyone, so don't be afraid of costs when you visit one. With that said, we have also provided some tips and advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO), on how you can prevent the spread of COVID-19: - Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
- Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.
- Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
- Stay home if you feel unwell.
- If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention
We understand that lockdown and the current climate can be hard and for some quite lonely. Give our teams a call so we can try to further assist or point you in the right direction. We have many amazing interpreters and translators in order for us to better understand you and your needs.
